I imposed upon myself a list of things that I wanted to achieve this summer: reading more, writing more, taking more photographs, sketching more...basically, using this time to experiment, to come up with new ideas, new ways of working, by using my intuition and new knowledge I pick up...

I'm forcing myself to read, because I want to learn what others before me have gotten to write, what ideas came to them, how they saw their world in their time, and how they invented a world with their words.

I'm forcing myself to write, in English, so that I become more comfortable using it in my everyday discussions, so that I organize my ideas into something that makes more sense to me, as I attempt to put them into sentences that perhaps somebody will stumble upon.

I'm forcing myself to make more art, so that I can better observe what exists in the world, and produce something that comes out of myself in response to it, with ideas of what could be and memories of what was.
